I had my surgery on the 15 May and still got blood in them at week 2.

Hi Kags

I had my surgery on 17th July and I too am still suffering from ghosting/halos. I'm hopeful that this is just while the eyes settle back to normal and heal. It's certainly affecting me less that it was the first few days, but I still don't really feel safe to drive at night.

What is your prescription cause i had my eyes done on the 18th July and i am still struggling with halo/ghost effects does anyone know when this disappears cause apart from that things are ok

I think I have been lucky as my eyes were barely bloodshot at all and just looked like I had bad hayfever for a day. I think each person must react differently as well as it depending how easily the surgeon manages to put in the vaccuum cups (or whatever they're called). That's only my assumption though!

To answer the question "How long do your eyes stay bloodshot?"
My eyes are as healthy looking now as before the op, (LASIK Intralase Wavefront) at 10 days later.
Right after the op both my eyes Were bruised and one was very very bloodshot, people kept saying that it must hurt as it looked bad but I couldn't feel it after the first day.

I had my surgery on the 7th march and still got blood in them at week 4

I had my surgery on the 19th and my eyes are almost back to normal. There is a slight bit of red on the edges.

I had standard lasik surgery last Sat 9th Feb in Bristol, then had my 40th birthday party on friday 15th Feb. My eyes were bloodshot on the saturday night following surgery, but by the sunday night back to white, and I had 20 20 vision. ( I was -3.5 in both eyes)

I know everybody is different and this may not been the same for your eyes, but its the best thing i have ever done, absolutely no problems, no blurred vision ( apart from the evening after surgery), and no pain at all

Thanks for your reply, I really appreciate your advice.

I went for my consultation and they said I was fine for surgery etc but I just can't make up my mind what to do, I change my mind every 5 minutes! I think the most sensible option would be to wait until after the wedding. At least I've got another 2 weeks until my scheduled op to decide what to do!

hi there

on serching the net i learnt that the bloodshot can remain for a few month and with time it'll dissappear.

my advise is that you wait after your wedding to go ahead with the surgery if you still wish and have a long and good read about the consent form they make you sign before going ahead with the surgery.

as for myself after a long thought i decided to postphone my surgery after i went for a consultation because my prescription changed a bit for the last 2 years and no one could guarantee i wouldn't need glasses in a few years time even though im only 22. by the way my eyes were perfect for surgery with a think cornea.

i think your wedding day is most important. think both positive and negative about this surgery. What if you go ahead with the surgery before the wedding and something goes wrong not going blind but their are many out there who has for example ghost eye, dry eyes or the eyes wouldn't heal and need retreatment.

as for bloodshot eyes it happen because of the suction ring which damage some of our eyes vein. some of it will clear in a week but its not guarantee.

you can still go ahead for a consultation and advise as i was very pleased with optimax service. they give you the fact and do not force you like other companies which i went before for consultation. And they even refund the £30 deposit if you don't go ahead.

if you still wish to have surgery better wait after the wedding and stick to contact lenses for now.

I am hoping to have lasik in 3 weeks time and was wondering how long other people's eyes have stayed blod shot for after the op?

The reason being is I'm getting married this year and I'm due to have some photos taken 3 weeks after my laser eye surgery and I don't know whether my eyes will still be bloodshot? If they will will then I'm going to have to rethink either my surgery or the photos.

I'd be really grateful if those of you who've had this done could tell me how long your eyes were red for.
