They took out the contact lense bandage on Friday and I felt like scratching my eyes out. REALLY itchy, but the eye drops soothed that. But i still had quite blurred vision.

every day since I've noticed a slight improvement. still no where near upto glasses standard, but I can drive now.

One thing though my right eye is definately improving quicker and I was just wondered if that was unusual or not.

RE: Epi Treatment

It can take a while for vision to settle down after Epi treatment.

Mine wasn't "perfect" until about 6 weeks, thats why we have the last Epi aftercare at 3 months. It probably took 3 weeks for most of the change to happen the last bit was very very subtle.

Let us know how you get on... :)

RE: Epi Treatment

Yeah i know the feeling; my right eye has been worse than the left for me too. It is now however getting a bit better i think. For info, i called the surgeon yesterday. He explained that it's quite normal for one eye to 'lag' the other. This is because the epithelia often take different times to heal. He assured me that the right one will catch up with the left - we just have to be patient. :w00t:

If you are concerned, do contact your surgeon. Mine has has been more than happy to answer my questions over the phone.

Great service Optimax - keep it up! :hehe:

RE: Epi Treatment

Hiya,

I had both eyes done on the same day.

I really do hope this does clear up soon as its beginning to annoy me now!

My right eye is definitely weaker than the left.

Regards
Little Miss

RE: Epi Treatment

Heya!

I guess it will take a while for our eyesight to settle. I'm able to focus on my screens pretty much perfectly now, although i have had to bring them a little closer than they were before!

Did you only have one eye done?

RE: Epi Treatment

Hi little miss,

don't worry at this stage, it took me just over a week to be able to focus on a screen completely, it won't be long before you'll be focussing on everything properly again.

RE: Epi Treatment

Hello peeps,

The Surgery went well. Had wavefront on the left eye also. It was painful on the first day, but it really improved over the next few says. I had my contacts removed on Sunday.

Back at work today. My eyes are really struggling to focus on the screen. Its a little blurry.

Im trying not to worry as i am hoping this is part of the healing process!!!!

does anybody else have the same problem?

Little Miss

RE: Epi Treatment
little miss (23/05/2007)
Hi,

I will hopefully be having surgery tomorrow (Epi-Lasek)

Do you think i will be ok to return to work on tuesday?;)

When do you normally have to go back after the initial treatment?

How painful is it post surgery?

IM SOOOOO NERVOUS!: :w00t:
Hi Little Miss!

Hope it went well! I too was epi-laseked on Thursday and am planning to return to work on Tuesday. Whether or not that is too early depends on what kind of work you do. If you'll be in front of a pc most of the day (as is the case for me), then you should be fine although you will probably need to take regular breaks.

On the pain front, i had three pretty painful days where i spent most of the time in bed. The contacts were removed yesterday afternoon, and this had an almost immediate positive effect. Today i feel much better - no pain and ok vision. Hence i'm finally able to return to limited net surfing!

Riko

RE: Epi Treatment

Hi,

I was treated on a Thursday evening and came back to work on the Tuesday so I had 4 full days recovery. If you are being treated tomorrow, you will be on the same timescale as me :)

Epi has a 3 day checkup time so the next time you will come in will probably be Monday for a check up.

Post Op was pretty painful for the first evening but after that it gets easier. Trust me you forget that bit when you don't need your glasses any more!

I was very nervous too, I think the hardest bit is waiting outside the laser room, once I was inside it was easy. :)

Nick

RE: Epi Treatment

Hi,

I will hopefully be having surgery tomorrow (Epi-Lasek)

Do you think i will be ok to return to work on tuesday?;)

When do you normally have to go back after the initial treatment?

How painful is it post surgery?

IM SOOOOO NERVOUS!: :w00t:

Epi Treatment

Often posts on the Internet are from people who have only just had surgery, so I thought I would start the ball rolling here by posting my experience of Epi-LASEK.
I was treated back in 2003, Wavefront was not available then and as my cornea's were thin I was not suitable for LASIK.

My Prescription was R-5.25 -2.00 @165 and L-6.25 -1.50 @177 so really I was at the edge of being suitable for Epi too. My eyes were treated one at a time to see how they healed so I had to go through the treatment and recovery process twice! There is definately an advantage to having both eyes treated at once.

It probably took about 6 weeks for my vision to totally settle down, but now I have the much talked about 20:20 vision I can honestly say that it has made an amazing difference to my life.

Now when I see pictures of me wearing glasses I can't believe it was me.

I still have moments when I remember that I have been treated and I am incredibly greatful for the opportunity I have had.

If you are considering surgery I would say go for it, make sure you research your doctor and rely on his recommendations, its what he does day in day out.

I am happy to answer any questions you may have about surgery, if you ask me about Optimax remember although I try to keep an open mind I am probably biased as I work here!
Nick
