Hello everyone

I am also taking advantage of the half price offer from Optimax, I have my consultation booked for 16 March at their Reading clinic.

Whilst I have been doing quite a bit of research online I was hoping to get answers/feedback from those who have been in my situation before.

I am 32, -2,5 in both eyes, been wearing soft monthly disposables for 9 years now, and I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to give me their opinion on the following 2 questions I have.

Is it wise to get both eyes done on the same day? and should I be getting a second opinion from another clinic before I decide to proceed with the surgery?

Any info would be very helpful!

Ben

I had both mine done at the same time - just is more sensible to get an appointment as late as possible so you can just go to bed after. It's not too bad though uncomfortable rather than painful and about the same level of pain as a headache for me anyway.

I was -3.75 and -3.25. My right eye was great after - left eye still blurred on retesting i was -.25 in the Right and -1.25 in the Left. this difference was a massive blow as i got loads of headaches and it was like having a contact lense in only one eye. So really disappointed.... BUT just had it retreated yesterday - no problems and now the left eye is perfect!!!

Yeay! so all's well that ends well and i am glad i got it done - especially as i got them to do it at the same price that it's advertised on ebay plus interest free credit so was a good price.

Hi ben,

I couldn't comment on whether to have both done at the same time as I have monovision (had just the one eye done - twice!!)

However if you are going to Reading and you have Dr Ayoubi I would say you are in great hands. I've been going since 2005 (to Southampton) and he did my original surgery. Don't know why mine went back to shortsight in that eye but it did. Had it re-done last Thursday. will do my own blog on that but just to say, whatever you decide I wish you well.
