you sent me a letter telling me a Nina Saunderson would be in touch with me-still waiting! You also said you hoped to resolve my complaint to my satisfaction within 20 working days from the letter you sent in response to my complaint - still waiting!

I am pleased to say I had a phone call today to my home from someone from Optimax who spoke to my husband as I was at work, to say they are sorry for not responding in the time they said they would and that Dr Anwar had been on holiday for the month of February so they had been unable to speak to him but would get back to me in a few days. I will kept you all posted

well today is the 17/3/09 and the person who phoned my home and spoke to my husband on the 7/3/09 said they would get in touch with me in a few days, well 10 days is a lot longer than a few days, disappointed that they are not true to their words. like most companies once they have your money dont want to give aftercare.

Well today I had a phone call to my home from a Karen Brown from Optimax, she left me a number to phone and when I did the phone kept ringing then told me the mail box was full and to try again later. Karen Brown told my son that I would have a response in the post tomorrow. I will keep you all posted what response I get, remember they originally said they hoped to give me a response in 20 working days to my satisfaction. Lets see if they do that.

I received a letter of appology from optimax which is not to my satisfaction. They have not given me the response I had expected and I will now write to the judge in the sunday mail and any other newspapers that will let others know o the bad customer care I have been given by optimax. the response said that as I had no problem in my day to day work Dr Anwar did not feel that there was any indication for retreatment, Well I dont know who gave DrAnwar this information as I clearly told him I had gone to have my eyes tested at Optical Express in november as I was having problems driving with my distance vision and could not read any of the controls and speedo (he did tell me to buy bifocals for this problem) I also had to carry around 3 pairs of glasses one pair 1.5 readers for distance, 2.5 readers for computor work and 3.00 for reading very small type so I dont know where the statement optimax have given me that I was not having problems in my day to day work. What Optimax really are saying is they dont intend to give me any compensation and these lies justify this. so anyone reading this go to a company who will not tell lies and give you good customer care.

I have something else to add that I forgot to put in above posting. In my letter of appology from optimax they also stated after my treatment in August 2004 with Dr Anwar they didn't even get this correct as Dr Anwar did not do my treatment in Aigust 2004 as he was not qualified to do the procedure I had, Optimax at that time flew a scandinavian docter on Saturdays for the procedure I had, this shows how uninportant my complaint was and is as they could not care less whether I am a satisfied customer or not, remember their adverts do you wish to no longer wear contacts or glasses have freedom by laser surgery at optimax, what they failed to say is for a limitted time unless like me you pay to be retreated by another company as they will not admit failure.

Following all the bad publisity lately in the press on all laser clinics Russell Ambrose, proprietor of Optimax commenting on the Which findings said As sole proprietor of Optimax he is personally liable(without ant limit to his liability) to all his patients and they also enjoy the reassurance of a lifetime guarantee ti treat any complications which may arise from laser treatment. this statement is lies as optimax will only treat regressed treatment within 1year of traetment.

Can you clarify something for me please Sybil. Are you saying that they will only retreat you within 12 months free of charge or that they won't re-treat at all even at cost after that time?
Like I said in an earlier post, they re-treated me with no problem after 3 years - not free of charge, but a much reduced rate. I did go backat the 18 month stage for a consultation but they wanted to see that my prescription was stable first. I was/am happy with this advice. It just took me a further 9 months or so to ring up to make this appointment. this was my own doing though not theirs.

I was refused to be retreated by Dr Anwar as he told me to buy a pair of bifocals and live with the sight I had at my age(54). I also told him I wanted the sight I had when I first had laser treatment 4years ago Dr Anwar then told me he also would like a full head of hair(he is going bald) he also would like the lines on his face removed and he would also like tobe a millionair but that was not going to happen either. Dr Anwar told me I had a zero prescription in my right and did not need it treated and the prescription in my left eye was so minimal that he did not agree to retreat me. After I said I was not happy and wished to have retreatment he agreed to retreat my left eye at a reduced cost of £950. but refused to retreat my right eye. He told me all three people including one from Optimax were wrong with the prescriptionin my right eye. I had retreatment at Optical Express and am sitting here typing this post with no glasses, I still need glasses for reading close and small type.
Russell Ambrose has said in a statement to Which magazine that patients of Optimax have a lifetime guarantee.

Was Dr Anwar trying to be funny because it reads like he was sarcastic? don't think I'd have liked that. I had Dr Ayoubi down in Southampton and I couldn't fault him, his treatment or his advice.
54 is too young to accept poor vision. I have monovision thanks to Dr Ayoubi's advice. I love it. No glasses for anything
