Hello all!

I must say it's so good to hear from others how they're getting on as I've gone from 'panick mode' to 'I just need to chill out' mode!

Had my second eye test over a week ago now at 2 weeks rather than a week as I didn't feel confident to drive from cornwall and back on my own.

The result is:

They're happy with them. No infection and eye pressure was at 9 in one eye and 12 in the other (but no idea what that means!) Sight in one is 0.75 but no idea what the other one is. I've stopped the antibiotics and steroids after gradually reducing the dosage as recommended.

My left eye can see fairly well for distance but is still hazey, my right one's still quite blurred for distance vision but crystal clear for close up vision.

I'm using Refresh and Viscotears (which are fab) regularly as they're still very dry and will be for ages I think. Both are cheaper online by the way.

All in all I'm pleased. Went to Egypt last week and it was fab not to have to rely on either specs or contacts, but massive dark shades were a must! Still fairly sensitive to bright light but I think it's getting better.

Keep us updated everyone, it's good to hear we seem to be all at similar stages.

Cheers!

Hi All,

Just thought I'd post to say that I've recently had my 3rd aftercare appointment on the 1st May (my surgery was done on 25th March). Well, my vision has definitely improved. During my eye test I was told that I now have almost perfect vision in my right eye (at my previous aftercare appt it was -0.5). My left eye is a bit behind and is now -0.5 (it was -0.75 at the previous appt). I could read the line above the bottom line with my right eye and some letters on the bottom line. The left eye was more of a struggle and I couldn't see the line above the bottom one clearly. However, there is a definite improvement. The optician reasured me that it is quite normal for one eye to recover quicker than the other and was happy that my left eye was going the right way. There was no sign of dry eye (I had been told to put drops in every hour previously). I was told to carry on and put them in four times a day. My eyes do still feel dry at times so I still put the drops in when I need to. My night time vision isn't too bad, the lights are quite bright, but its ok.

I have to go back in 3 months time. I have to say I have relaxed alot about my vision and I am happy with the stage I am at.
