I am booked in to have my surgery in Brighton in 2 weeks time and monovision is one of the options available to me. At the moment I am trialling it with my contact lenses. My left eye has a lens that is 1.00 less than normal ie, should be -4.50 and is -3.50 instead. I must admit that I seem to have adjusted to it fairly well. At first round the house was strange but as soon as I went outside I realised that my vision was really good. Driving hasn't been a problem either. I did dismiss it at first but now i think it is a serious consideration.
Has anyone out there gone ahead and had monovision correction and how was the outcome? I would really like to know
My current prescription is left -4.50 right -2.75
Thanks
Andy

Hi Andy
yes i have monovision. ihad epi-lasek to achieve this.
it takes some time for the eyes to adjust - or the brain actually. Give yourself plenty of time for this. When I was first advised that I would be suitable for monovision, I went on to the ebay site and asked Russell Ambrose (the owner of optimas) He had it done years ago apparently and he said to stick with it and it might take some months to adjust,
i think it was about 3 months for me but everyone is different I guess.
I am pleased I had it as I won't now need reading glasses
