I had Lasik Wavefront eye surgery for £ 1795 (half price special) over 18 months, interest free APR. Brilliant ! Best investment I have ever made - So Far !

I went to the Surgery at Newcastle and was abit aprehensive at first.

I arrived at 10.45am and filled in the paperwork, my appointment was supposed to be 11.45pm, but they seemed to be behind abit, so by the time I went in at 1.30pm my nerves were shot too pieces.

I had my eye sight check first then was given drops to numb my eyes. A lovely fetching hair net was applied and some overshoes. My eyes were cleaned with fluid to get rid of muck etc. I lay on the bed, my eye lashes were taped down, then a suction cup was placed over the eye. I went under the machine to cut the flap first, then I moved over to the other machine for the laser. I was asked to look at the red dot while the Nurse counted down from 40 seconds per eye, I could smell burning which was abit yucky !. The whole process seemed like it was just minutes. In fact about 15 minutes in all. I had abit debris under the flap afterwards so I went straight back in to have the flap lifted and rinsed. Contact Lenses were fitted over the eyes to protect the flap.

The whole Experience was pain free ! (apart from the surgeon sitcking his prongs in my eyes before the drops were applied - thanks for that !, so the nurse had abit of a telling off). The nurses were lovely and re-assuring, saying I was doing great all the way along. My vision was blurry (to be expected) but I could at least see for once in my life !!!!! I went home wearing my lovely sunglasses and my eyes drops and had a couple of snoozes.

I have not had any pain whatsoever, and the light didnt seem to affect my eyes too much, so I am pleased so far.

I am quite tired - lack of sleep due too worrying I think, but I needn't of bothered.

I went for my early morning checkup. I was only waiting 10 minutes then I got called in and my eyes checked over. The lenses were removed and my eyes sight checked. My eyes are currently doing brilliantly and I have good enough vision to drive.

I have had no side effects, no discharge, no infections, so at this moment in time everything is brilliant.

My eyes are still alittle bit hazy at times, but this will improve day by day. My next checkup is next Monday evening, so hopefully I should be in and out.

Contact Lense and Specs free now, bloody brilliant !

I am still trying to encourage my boyfriend who I think is terrified, but this is a life changing experience and worth every penny.

I am so proud of myself for doing this and thanks to everyone at the Surgery who put me at ease all the way along.
