hi, i was wondering if you would be able to answer the following question? I had epi-lasek on both eyes on 24th feb 08, so only 5-6wks ago. I've had my first check up and was told my eyes were healing nicely and my vision was very good. I can see a lot clearer now but i am concerned about how light sensitive my eyes are. Is it normal for my eyes to be overly very sensitive to the light? It often feels like my eyes are stinging and they water quite often throughout the day, especially first thing in the morning. I have to wear sunglasses even when its not that sunny outside!! I also get this when im reading aswell, and it can be quite fustrating as i cant focus. I know this can last upto 3mths, as i have read.. so am i just panicking, or should i take it up with the consultant on my next visit, which is in 2wks time?? what do you think??
ks x

Optimax ??? What total waste of time.
After taking time off work to go to Newcastle branch I was treated like an idiot by the most surly individual (a middle aged woman with no customer skills) I have had the misfortune to meet. After filling in the health questionnaire I was told that I was not suitable because I had already had laser surgery 15 years ago on my left eye. On inquiring what difference that made, as Ultralase and Optical Express were both willing to treat me, I was told that they would not treat anyone who had been to a competitor, even if it was for a different eye. She "we get people coming after having been to Optical Express for one eye we would not treat the other". Nice I must say.
Sounds as though they get upset about people not having come to them in the first place.
My question is, why is there no indication of this in their literature or website, and if this is really the case, why was I not asked about other treatments during the telephone booking procedure? The main time taken on the phone was trying to get a deposit from me. I wasted a considerable amount of time traveling (17 miles) to get there and the time taken off work was wasted.
All in all a very bad experience.
