What do people reccommend for eye drops,

ive been told to get "refresh drops", "artificial tears", lubrication drops" (all of which should be preservative free. also "viscotears". Upon searching round 5 different pharmacies today, all i could find was Alergan Lacri-lube. it says to lubricate the eye during or after surgery so i guess its ok, the only annoying thing is that its an ointment rather than drops which are a lot easier im sure you will agree, but its the only one which was preservative free.
has anyone used this before? i purchased it from Boots.

or where could i find the drops mentioned above?

thanks in advance!

Terry

Hi Terry

I got some Viscotears from Asda Pharmacy, they were about £5. it is a gel but it comes out in drops, I have found it really easy to administer as i struggle alittle putting eye drops in. The only place i have seen the refresh drops in at optimax. Apparently they are sold at costco and costcutters but there isn't either of those nearby to me. I am happy to use the viscotears.

Hi

I was given lacrilube to use at night before I go to bed, I wouldn't recommend it for the day because it feels like you have a film of Vaseline over your eye!

I'm surprised you can't find Refresh at Boots.

If you want to buy in bulk you can go to www.chemistdirect.co.uk, might work out cheaper.

Naz.

how did you find lacra-lube worked for you?

using it in the day is horrible, eyes go blurry for the first 20 minutes everytime you blink and feels like vaseline over your eyes like you said!

i will look at some other places when i finish work, the drops are so much more convenient, just unsure which ones are best.

thanks again to the both of you

Terry

Hi Terry

Meant to say I had to ask for Viscotears when i went to Asda Pharmacy, so if you can't see what you need its always worth an ask.

Hope your eyes are feeling abit better

hi
the drops I used were supplied free by Optimax. I bought further supplies from Optimax. Think it's safest to go with their own recommended brand.

Potential Patients
Optimax have now improved their £500 off offer.
The offer is:
-free consultation
-£500 off Wavefront treatment (with Lasik or Lasek)
-interest free credit.
To get this offer simply e mail me for one of the vouchers (it is part of their recommend a friend scheme). I will post the voucher to you free of charge.

I am aged 53, have worn glasses/contact lens since aged 8, and now for the first time ever I have 20/20 vision. Is the best money I ever spent. You won't regret it.

Hi

I think the Lacrilube has worked wonders for the dryness, because my eyes were really dry.

Having said that I was told to take Flaxseed Oil as well because they were that dry, so I think using them both together has helped a lot, I can feel my eyes are much better.

I wouldn't use it in the day.. I don't think I'd be able to see properly.

The Refresh are great for the day, sharpen your vision momentarily too. I use Viscotears about 3 times a day and Refresh in between now and again.

Hope you're getting on better with your new drops.

Naz
