I had my lasik treatment at Manchester in October 2011 and I'm overall very pleased with the result. I can see better than I ever could with glasses or contact lenses and it has set me free. No longer do I have to carry fluids and cases and spare glasses around. My eyes feel altogether healthier as I must say I used my contacts a lot longer then I should (12-16 hours some days) and some days they felt starved of oxygen.
However, eight weeks later I've developed a floater in my right eye which is rather annoying but having said that I don't regret having it done and the positives more than outweigh this negative.
Just wondered if anyone had any tips/remedies for this pesky floater.[

I had a huge onset of annoying floaters after LASIK surgery a year ago in Manchester, and I am sorry to say that they only get worse with time.

All Optimax said was "there is nothing you can do about it", at first denying that LASIK had anything to do with it; and then later admitting that the suction ring used can cause floaters - this was confirmed by an opthamologist at MRI.

Obviously due to my now distorted vision I greatly regret having the surgery (would pay to get it reversed if it would eliminate floaters).

My only advice would be to wear sunglasses in bright weather, and to try and accept the floater as part of your vision.
