| On May 21st I had the following treatment: 6 hours after the surgery my vision was great in my left eye - but still blurry in the right. I attributed this to the healing process. The day after the surgery was my aftercare appointment. There was no change in my vision. I was told by the person who sight-tested my eyes, that my vision would stabilise over the 7 weeks. Over the last 4 days since my 1st appointment - I personally think the vision in my right eye has slightly improved. Yesterday, 31st May - I had my 2nd aftercare appointment. The surgeon looked at my eyes and identified WHY my vision was better in my left than in my right. The corneal flap is wrinkled in my right eye - I'm told it's not badly wrinkled. The surgeon has advised that it may fix itself by the 3rd after-care appointment -6th of June-. If on the 3rd aftercare appoitnment that my vision in my right is no better, I'm told the cornea flap will be lifted, straightened and the flap put back. A bandage contact lense will be put over the flap to protect it. Does anyone have any thoughts ? Guess I just need some reassurance as I'm pretty stressed out about this! Regards, Christian.

| Hi, dont worry to much. My brother had to have his flap lifted and flattened and he has perfect vision. Some times it can be caused if you have squeezed your eyes. The lift flap is just done by putting the drops in like when you had treatment and then they lift the lap and use a saline solution to rehydrate the flap and flatten it. You should be fine and the vision will improve straight away.

| Hi Cinders, Thank you for that & sharing your brother's experience. That does reassure me. Many thanks, Christian.

| Hi Christian, A flap wrinkle can be sorted out by the doctor at checkup or naturally smoothes out. It shouldn't effect your outcome as Cinders says. Let us know how you get on. Thanks Nick

My son just had Wavefront Lasik a week ago and went back to the surgeon today complaining of blurriness. He too has a slight wrinkle. They filled him with some fluid and he said they put some wire in there....I don't think he knows exactly what the doctor did...but he has to go back tomorrow. The doctor said he saw it last week and thought my son might have rubbed his eye. My son said no way. I'm glad I found this forum because the "wrinkle" just made me crazy.

| Hi Nick, Since the 2nd aftercare appointment a week ago, I was at my 3rd aftercare appointment today in the Reading clinic. The surgeon examined my eyes and my right eye vision has improved (from the sight chart) and the flap is less wrinkled. The eye is not yet 20/20 - but the surgeon says that the wrinkle is smoothing itself out - because it has improved since last week. I am keeping my eyes hydrated as often as possible (every 2hrs) with the Refresh drops even if they do not feel dry. The surgeon has told me - keeping the eye hydrated is the best thing the patient can do. So, in summary my right eye is sorting itself out - but of course will take time. I feel much more re-assured. Shall keep you all in the loop. Nick Russell (04/06/2007)

| I had my 4th aftercare appointment today. Saw Dr Ayoubi (Great doctor!). My vision in my left is very good 20/20 and improving. The vision in my right has greatly improved since my last visit. The corneal flap is alot smoother than it was the last time Dr Ayoubi examined my eyes. My next aftercare appointment is in 2 months time. So far so good! I'm very pleased with this positive feedback. Mainly, because my right eye is correcting itself without the need for further surgery. Very pleased! Christian.

| Forgot to add. I cannot remember exactly which lines I could read on the Snellen chart. But Dr Ayoubi said I could read 2 more lines since last week. The amount of correction to bring the right eye .. level with the left is -0.5 That to me, sounds very little correction. Is it ?
