| I posted here a few weeks ago regarding the different charges made by Optimax for the same treatment-now my post has been removed and no reason has been given! I assume Optimax would prefer to charge everyone the full price-this is no reason to remove a perfectly valid post from a supposedly open forum. I would appreciate a comment from Russell Ambrose explaining Optimax's differing pricing policies. I consider it rude and inconsiderate to remove without comment a polite and obviously relevant (judging by the number of readers and comments) post from this forum.

| Ultimately Optimax are in business and I guess they like to charge thier customers the going rate for treatment. Their list prices are no different to their competitors, in fact they are probably cheaper, I've researched the market. However, if a customer researches the net or speaks with previous Optimax customers I'm sure that they all get a good deal. The idea of business is to return a profit, if however you are in the position to offer discounts you wait for the customer to ask rather than give or offer the customer discounts or concessions at will, it's normal buisness practise and shows good commercial acumen. So don't be miffed, and be happy for customers regardless of wether they secured a deal or not, ultimately they all get what they want, spectacle free vision, you can't put a price on that!

| Guess what? I too posted a few weeks ago regarding the pricing differences and mine has up and vanished like the proverbial you know what in the wind...too hot to handle, I guess! (I seem to recall still another post...) There were also requests for a moderator to please post and explain these discrepancies...to no avail. Anyway, I would like to say first that I am very happy with the results of the lasik + options. Second, I'd like to thank you, "Miffed", and the other posters on this thread, who, o! serendipity, saved me a neat 600 quid (yes!) on the day, all by quoting "Ebay"...I'm hoping to, by this post, "pay it forward" as it were...Here's fingers crossed that someone will see this before the magic wand of free speech oppression gets pointed in this direction and "POOF"!

LASIK was the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. I am a mother of a 3 year old and a 1 year old and that means a lot of waking up in the middle of the night. This translated to sleeping in my contacts so that I could see what I was doing when I had to check on my kids; after 20 years, it was starting to take a toll on the health of my eyes. Dr. Wiles is so informative and has such a calm demeanor; he put me at ease even though I was nervous about the procedure. He went through all of the steps involved in the treatment so that I knew exactly what to expect. I appreciate everything he has done to make my vision what it is today. I can now see 20/20 with no help."

| I have just returned from Optimax after initial consultation. Bit perplexed by consultant who told me "to haggle with them, get their best price"! Gave me quote for Lasik intralase wavefront of £3540, which 2 minutes later came down to £3000! However, have spoken to a number of people who had this particular treatment in July 07, January 08 and June 08 who only paid a little over £2000. Is there no set price for treatment like one of Optimax's rivals? How do they reach the final figure? I asked the Receptionist who told me they are on a salary but also get bonuses.
