I had laser eye surgery last year, i am suffering from very dry eyes, and are going to have silicone/collogen plugs (or something) later this month. i am aware that this is under anasthetic drops, however i have not been informed whats really involved, can i drive that day? do i require anytime off work after procedure? help?!

hi i'm sorry I cant answer your question i'm afraid, but I wanted to ask you how you went about getting plugs put in.

I had my eyes lasered with Optimax 2/3 years ago now and while my vision is good, I have suffered from dry eyes ever since.  I was reading about these plugs and wondered who to see to get them put in - did you see a doctor or an optician?

sory for late reply only just come back on site. went bak to clinic yesterday. i have chronic dryness and was told im the only one that doc had seen with it this bad so late after op. imback on some new drops 8 times a day and got night drops advised to drink water and take flaxseed oil suplemtns. he also this afternoon put the plugs in for me. procedure was fast and painless. however very uncomfortabl.e felt a bit like he was putting a small needle into the corner of my eyes. he was really nice and good withme. i didnt have to ask for the plugs he suggested it and just did for me today. although since i had them done. my eyes have been hurting had head ache all day so off work. and its nw 4am and im still up cuz i cant sleep. feels abit like glue in my eyes and they are sore and itchy. i go back in a month for a check up. he said hes only done the plugs to 3 or for ppl its quite rare.hopefully it will get sorted. i cant find anyone that has had it done though at all. everyones just dicussion same topics.
