HelloI had my eyes done on 15/08/08
I think you really have to weigh up just how inconvienient specs are. My sight is good now, although still bit blury round edges. I was -5.5 -5 now left with cyl of -.25 in left which is fine.
I haven't got dry eyes luckily either, although as soon as it turns to dusk I am blinded by streetlights, headlamps etc. This can last forever hopefully not thought!
The aftercare of putting drops in etc is much more than I expected for a whole week it's all I seemed to do. I felt very down after having it done as I realised I may have damaged my eyes forever as the structure is never truely stable and eyes need greater protection from uv light.
I had half price treatment and still not sure i'd advise it.
I felt I was in a meat market- as soon as they'd finnished op they sit you up and pack you off-no proper recovery. ( which to staff is probably fine as to them it's an everyday thing) They run through drop procedure as you've just had treatment-I couldn't take it in as I think I went into shock from treatment. It doesn't hurt but I absolutely hated it, it terrified me.
I'm not saying don't go for it but please don't be swayed by thinking it'll all be perfect I'm still waiting to stop thinking about it every day-can't wait for halos/glare headaches to dissapear.
Sorry if this seems very negative but we only have one pair of eyes & it's a shame to damage them.
Depending on your eyesight it may be woth going for Epi Lasek- that's been around for 20 years and doesn't change eye structure- wish i'd had it! know it's more painful recovery but may be worth it in long term. I read on this very site in FAQ I think,( FOUND IT IN FAQ - treatment section, under question what's difference between lsik & epi lasek) that it says someting along lines of turtle & hare & how getting it done with faster recovery doesn't always give best outcome. They basically say they don't know outcome more than cuple of years ahead.
