hi, i had lasik 4 weeks ago, i was -1 in both eyes before surgery, just had another check up and they now say 1 eye is 0.05 and other is -0.25? i have to go back in a month, to probably get the treatment tweaked?? which is apparently were they relift the flap and do work again. i have also been getting really bad headaches and like a bleary stare/ glare. has anyone ever had there treatment tweaked and what happens ?? do they have to use blade again?? i was scared before i got it done first time but dunno if to get it done again or just leave it.

Hi there,

I would say your appointment in a month is simply to check if your eyes have got any better. As it has been only 4 weeks since your treatment I wouldn't worry about retreatement just yet. I think it can take up to 3 months or even more for your eyes to settle down. I would wait and give it a chance. At your next appointment they may suggest retreatment if you wish to have it and if you have had no improvement. It is all about getting used to your new eyes and believe me it does take time. Also -.25 isn't that bad and is something you could live with if you didn't want to risk surgery once again. I was -3.75 and -4.25 and am now 0 in one eye and -.25 in the other. its not a problem for me as I can see better than driving standard with the -.25 eye. You, however, may feel different as you only had a low prescription to start off with. My main advice would be to not even consider retreatment until you have had your next appointment. Don't worry and concentrate on using your drops and resting your eyes.

Shelley
