Hi All,

I had laser eye surgery (Lasik with Wavefront/intralase) at Optimax in May this year.

The day after the surgery my vision was great. Since then it's been very variable, and I've been suffering with horrendously dry eyes.

I've now spent over £120 on various eye drops (Refresh, Celluvisc, Clinitas Ultra 3 and others...) but each drop offers relief for a short while and then seems to have lesser effect.

It's also getting very expensive given all required aftercare/treatment was meant to be included in the price.

Is this normal for it to last this long? Anyone got any suggestions on how to eleviate some of the 'scratchy' feeling?

Am I the only one who feels that the price I've spent on eye drops seems extreme for a supposedly 'all inclusive' price?

Thanks,

Steve

Hi,

I'm just wondering how often you're putting in drops?

I was using them about 20 times a day for the first month, 10 times a day for the second, gradually decreasing to about 3 or 4 times after 5 months. Then it stopped.

During this period I was wondering if I was going to be one of the unlucky ones who never fully recovers from the operation. I had really bad halos around lights. Driving was fine during the day, but brake lights at night were a nightmare. It took about 3 months before I could read one of those overhead gantry displays on the motorway properly.

The halos gradually got better and when I stopped using the drops after 5 months they had all but gone.

I'm now nearly 9 months with my new eyes and am very happy. Stick with the aftercare and use the drops as often as you feel you need them. It began to drive my girlfriend crazy because I was putting them in all the time in some ridiculous places. But if you need them you need them!

Hope you're getting there :o)
