Had lasik, intralase, wavefront 6 days ago and eye sight is exactly the same as the day after surgery

- right eye (was -3.75) is now perfect, left eye (was-4.25) and is blurred enough to make me feel like i need a contact lense to balance the two out.

I know it can take a while to settle down and is still early days but the difference is tremendous and makes me feel a bit ill and i can't drive

Anyone else had this??? As am worrying that the surgery under corrected (surgeon spent an awful lot longer on left eye compared to right too?).

hi there,
My eyes were left -3.75 and right -4.25 and after surgery my left eye was much bettter than my right. If you read my blog entitled yes I have finally decided to go ahead......you will see exactly how I felt throughout the early days. It takes a long time for some people such as myself to adjust and be happy with their eyes. Although your difference seems more than mine just remember it has only been a week since your treatment and it was a few months before I felt happy. In regards to under correction did you receive a letter you are supposed to give to your doctor to show what treatment you had? In my letter the left eye laser was set to my exact perscription but my right eye laser was set .25 less than my perscription. Since then I have learned that it is my .25 astigmatism which has caused my sight to be poorer for the right eye. Don't panc as often time is the essence.

Keep us posted
Shelley

Hi there, thanks for reassurance although I am starting to panic now, here's why..........

first day post op -could read 3 down from the chart on my left eye even though blurred
1 week post op - can't see a single letter on the chart!!!!!!!!!!!

So it is getting worse and I have been booked in with the consultant again which doesn't bode well, as there are no signs of swelling, infection etc, operation was done to match the prescription, no astigmatism, so no reason for the severe blurriness.

I was a -4.25 in the left and feel that i'm now about a -2.75 as if i wear my old glasses over the left eye i see perfect.

I know it takes 3 months to settle down and will probably improve but worrying that because my left eye was previously dominant and now can't see it'll mess up the monovision in both eyes and make my right eye worse too.

AAAAHHHhhhhhh can't help worrying that i've made a big mistake.....

WEIRD THING HAPPENED???!!!

I sat in my lounge straining to see the car number plates across the road, with my left eye (right eye closed) then put a refresh drop in and blinked, could see perfectly with my left eye for a second then it went blurry again immediately after again.

Seems weird that a refresh drop would only work for like 2 seconds then my eye dries out again, hmmmmm.

My eye doesn't feel dry but maybe I'm lacking a layer of tear fluid or something? Can anyone from Optimax comment?

I can understand why you are worried.  Can you bring your appointment with the consultant forward?  Like Shelley I have been left with some astigmatism and also still under-corrected a little in each eye.  Its a little frustrating, but still a major improvement on my pre-surgery vision.

I would say that if it's worrying you, go back sooner and ask for some advice.

Good luck.

Left eye retreated yesterday - perfect vision!!!!!

The surgeon had under corrected slightly in both eyes but worse in the left. Also apparently i heal too much and that means that the eye has tried to overcompensate for the injury and thus changed my prescription a little.

So quite happy.

Hi there

Glad to hear that your retreatment went well.

What was prescription was your left eye before the retreatment ? I'm looking at

a possible retreatment myself.
