Your vision may still experience natural progression which can over time lead to a new prescription. Are you able to provide the full details including the SPH and CYL measurements for distance and near (the latter may be written as ADD only)?

If you have any questions or would like to discuss further to perhaps book a consultation please call me on 01733 297 193 or email david.knight@optimax.co.uk.

Kind regards,
David.

How soon after the surgery can I go back to work?

Abstract:
Hello,

Returning to work after laser treatment is dependent on the type of environment that you work in so we would need you to find out more before we advise you correctly..

If you have any further questions or would like to discuss it further please call me on 01733 297 193 or email david.knight@optimax.co.uk.

Kind regards,
David.

I had a consultation and my prescription is -1.75 & -1.25 but I was advised i cant get the cheapest treatment as my pupils are too large. is this correct ?

Abstract:
Hello,

If your pupils are too big for standard surgery option, Lasik will only be possible with Wavefront - which comes at an additional cost

Have you had a consultation with Optimax?

If you have any further questions or would like to discuss it further please call me on 01733 297 193 or email david.knight@optimax.co.uk.

Kind regards,
David.

I only wear reading glasses and have no problem with far vision. I am 56 years old and am in perfect health . Would laser eye surgery help me to read without glasses and without having a negative effect on my good distance vision?

Abstract:
Good afternoon,

There are 2 options for you. In regards to Laser treatment I would recommend Monovision - This is where one eye is treated to give good distance vision, leaving the other eye deliberately a little short sighted for close up work. This is an excellent compromise, however it does take time to get used to. Monovision can be tried by trialling contact lenses of different strengths. You should discuss this during your consultation. This is available in all of our UK treatment clinics.

The other option for you would be Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE). This treatment is more suitable for patients who need reading glasses, and is the same as cataract surgery. The natural lens of the eye is replaced with an artificial lens to correct your vision. It also avoids any future need for cataract surgery which comes to all of us if we live long enough. A big advantage is that multi focal lenses (if used) can correct both distance and close-up vision, avoiding the need for reading glasses.

If you have any further questions or would like to discuss it further please call me on 01733 297 193 or email david.knight@optimax.co.uk.

Kind regards,
David.

About ten years ago, I had laser treatement done with my eye sight -7 with a different company and its left me with a vision of -1.25 in right eye and -1.5 in left eye, would I be able to have the procedure done again with Optimax?

Abstract:
Hi Karen,

Unfortunately due to you having your previous Laser treatment with another company, we will not be able to offer you any further treatment.

If you have any further questions or would like to discuss it further please call me on 01733 297 193 or email david.knight@optimax.co.uk.

Kind regards,
David.

I have an appointment booked in Liverpool branch for a consultation on 3 March. There is no direct link between laser eye surgery and floaters developing as typically floaters develop by a change in the vitreous humour or movement within the surrounding tissue, retina, etc, which the laser does not touch in any way.

As they are natural there is nothing to be concerned with unless you notice a dramatic increase in the number of floaters and they start to affect your sight on a daily basis. The laser treats the cornea of the eye only where the rods and cones that affect colour perception are in the retina. As far as I am aware there are currently no treatments available to cure or correct this.

If you have any questions please call me on 01733 297 193 or email david.knight@optimax.co.uk.

Kind regards,
David.

At the moment I wear varifocal glasses as I am both long and short sighted, is there any treatment to correct my eyes so that I would not need to wear glasses at all, I am 53 years of age.

Abstract:
Good afternoon Eric,

There are a couple of options we could offer you to correct the need for both your long and short sight. Through laser eye surgery we would assess for and consider monovision for you. To assess if you are a possible candidate for this surgery, or what other option may be better to consider, could I ask you to please confirm the full results from your glasses prescription.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss further and possibly book a consultation please call me on 01733 297 193 or email david.knight@optimax.co.uk.

Kind regards,
David.

I am considering laser eye surgery as I am short sighted, I dont wear reading glasses but someone told me that if my distance vision was corrected I would then need glasses for reading - is this correct?

Abstract:
Good afternoon Leon,

This depends on your age and eye condition. If you are over the age of 40 and take your glasses off to read then yes, should we correct both your eyes for distance, you will need reading glasses to aid your near vision. If you are not yet 40 and can read perfectly well without taking your glasses off then you will not have any problems but please be aware the need for reading glasses comes on with age and everyone over the age of 40 will require reading glasses at some stage.

There are options available depending on your individual information so if you are interested in discussing this further please call me on 01733 297 193 or email david.knight@optimax.co.uk. Is it possible to have the scar removed by Optimax?

Abstract:
Good afternoon,

We dont carry out this type of treatment. I am unsure if a scar can be removed from the eye using laser treatment. We specialise in prescription correction only to remove the need for glasses due to being either long or short sighted. Unfortunately because of the infection in your eye you would not be a suitable candidate for laser eye surgery.

Kind regards,
David.

I have been told that I am long and short sighted not sure if this is one in each eye or not would I still be able to have surgery and would I need to wear glasses for reading and driving

Abstract:
Good afternoon Ray,

The best way to assess possible surgery options and correction that could be achieved is with your glasses prescription.
